After years of planning and a lot of patience, construction of the Steelworks Park is finally complete! The Steelworks Park Dedication Ceremony for the Steelworks Park, located north of the Steelworks Museum at 215 Canal Street, will be Friday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m. Keep your eyes on our north parking lot adjacent to Interstate 25, you will see some very large artifacts, such as a Davenport locomotive and a 130 ton ladle. In addition to the locomotive and ladle, the park will also feature Mine Rescue Car No. 1, two coal carts, a large statue of a steelworker and shaded landscaping with flowers, shrubs, and benches.
Though construction has completed, we still need your help in completing this unique project. Please consider adopting a bench or purchasing a brick which, in addition to helping a great cause, will be an opportunity for you to honor a loved one (or a group of loved ones) that worked at the steel mill, St. Mary Corwin Hospital, or the Colorado Supply Company store. Thank you all very much for your ongoing support, and we hope to see you all there!
