Parallel to I-25, just north of the Steelworks Museum, the Steelworks Park features historic CF&I artifacts including a Davenport Engine from the Allen Mine, ore carts, 10 and 130 ton ladles, rail rollers, a Karymor merry go round, and a larger than life bronze sculpture of a steelworker. These artifacts are surrounded by trees, native plants, interpretive signage, and benches. Adopting a bench is an opportunity to honor a loved one who worked at the steel mill, subsidiary company, railroad, St. Mary-Corwin or Minnequa Hospital or the Colorado Supply Company store, a family of CF&I workers, an entire department, or even a labor union.
Please call the Steelworks Center of the West for information on Enterprise Zone Tax Credit contributions (719) 564-9086. Thank you for your support!
