VOLUNTEER
Yes! I would like to become a volunteer with the Steelworks Center of the West!
The Steelworks Center depends on volunteers to assist the organization in tasks for the Steelworks Museum, Steelworks Archives and with our educational programs. By volunteering with us you are helping to support and preserve the museum and archives of CF&I which was important to the history and development of Pueblo and Southern Colorado.
We accept volunteers of all ages. Whether you are volunteering on behalf of your school or organization, or you just have extra time on your hands please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! We have enjoyable and interesting tasks ranging from working in the museum to working in the archives. If you are a student, we also have internship opportunities for you to gain experience working in a museum and nonprofit environment.
Some potential tasks include:
- Working in the museum gift shop.
- Serving as museum tour guides.
- Cleaning and cataloging museum artifacts.
- Arranging and describing archival collections.
- Participating in educational programs as teachers or assistants.
- Working with computer audio editing software to create oral history clips.
- Working at special events or fundraisers.
- Serving on committees.
